University of Denver Increases Funding to Support Veterans’ Education

A degreed mechanical engineer, Rotimi Aderohunmu earned his MBA from Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver (DU) and later his PhD in operations research from Southern Methodist University. Now retired, Rotimi Aderohunmu most recently served as an associate professor of business information and analytics at Daniels College of Business.

In April 2017, DU announced it would offer a $5,000 match to support veterans eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program of the Post-9/11 GI Bill. The additional funding will support veterans throughout their undergraduate and graduate studies.

The Yellow Ribbon Program allows private schools to create veterans-only scholarships that are matched dollar for dollar by the US Department of Veterans Affairs. The total funds go toward meeting the tuition and fees for veterans attending higher education institutions.

DU’s Daniels College is also stepping up to support veterans. The college announced it would offer full funding to eligible veterans to pursue any of the graduate programs offered at Daniels.

DU’s support for veterans’ education has not gone unnoticed. A recent US News & World Report ranked DU the 53rd best college in the nation for veterans.
